The man that took the crest from Colonel Powell, the little pink man that became a president in a way he did not expect. At times, he was out of it, but someone (somehow) had to find the will to serve.

Time outside the oval office has been good to him. He is a diminutive person of who he once was and not having to shoulder the responsibility of America was a relief.

He loves Michelle Obama, the kind of woman he may have married if there was no tradition to keep, nothing to give up and he could be himself.

His presidency was turbulent. And at times had a hard time dealing with it, but he was glad once it was over. He couldn’t get out of there quickly, and now as a civilian, life seems more subdued and quiet, with his routines and painting and the occasional get-together and coming out to speak when The Party required it.

He is a man of principle. He has his ways of doing things and can be dogged. He put the Colonel under the bus, or he did his bidding.

He carries all the casualties of war, men and women he sent to war. He has his quiet moment but remains someone that is faded or fades.

Politics don’t interest him, but quiet times and his easel bring him joy and comfort, and sanity because he has a lot to ponder.
