Phylicia (Mrs. Huxtable) once had a remarkable career, but with all that work, she was not fully recognized, and that has taken a toll on her self-esteem and self-worth as an actor.
She is refined but sometimes veneer, as actors want to be recognized for their work. She had a good time on the Cosby Show and looked up to Bill as a colleague and an admirer professionally. But as much impact as the show had, they were not recognized by the industry, and she was not. So she took it hard because of all the sacrifices that went into that show and knew what it took.
Now she has redeemed herself, that part by paving it forward by working with the next group of talented actors and creatives to show them the light. It was not the work she imagined she would be doing, but it made a big impact for her to use her leverage and experience to model for the next generation. She is quite committed to it, as she has always done some type of mentoring in the past. So it was natural for her to step into this role.
Phylicia is getting up there in age. She is looking for a perspective and to provide an overview. She wants to translate her experience so that it can motivate others.
It is very important work for her and one she cherishes. She has given her so much meaning and resolves to take on battles and challenges in her life.
She is going quite well, always presenting herself as a rare wine, but does have some work to do, and she is doing that and moving on, moving on with it.
