The old singing actress has had a good run. A country-talking and no bullshit taking type of a girl. She knows how to negotiate for herself. She has been doing that for as long as she remembers, speaking up for herself when those around her are supposed to protect her but disappoint her.

That she has parlayed into gigs and performances, television shows, acting, and singing. It is as if her life had been one country singing songs, moving, and hustling to have the life she thinks she wants.

Poverty was not in the future and it was something important, that she wanted to make sure to overcome it. In fact, her life has been trying to overcome white privilege and poverty, and she is fighting to be seen and maintain her status and all the things she got.
